John Edmond -
Tales of the Game Rangers Volume 1 through 4
The concept of Tales
of the Game Rangers was conceived by Folksinger John Edmond
who's upbringing in the wilds and pioneering spirit helped
in the birth of this project. The series is narrated by Game
Scout Tongorara, an ancient man of the bush who hails from
Plumtree in Zimbabwe and has worked as a farm hand, tracker
and game Scout. Some of the stories are traditional ones
that John heard as a boy and others are original tales
created by John himself. The songs are all composed by John
and are woven around the tales in intricate detail.
With songs such as "How
did the Leopard get his spots", "Never Monkey around with a
Giraffe", "Where do Elephants go?" and "Flick of the Hippo's
tail", the objective of the
programme is to create awareness and educate whilst
providing wholesome family entertainment at the same time.
Tales of the Game Rangers has attained wide acclaim in
educational, theatrical, tourist and conservationist circles
around the world.
