THE CIRCLE OF LIFE - The inside story

Shoot all the crocodiles in the river and the barbel (Catfish) populations explode. They eat all the small fishes and the kingfishers and other birdlife disappear from the river.

A link in the chain of THE CIRCLE OF LIFE is broken. It is the basic principle of the whole creation that all things compliment each other and control the balance of nature, so the ancient Chinese philosophy of YIN YANG makes sense.

This explains the 'law of the jungle". In the animal realm there are hunters but there are also the hunted, yet unlike mankind they live in harmony and remain WILD AND BEAUTIFUL AND FREE.

From ancient times man has been fascinated by nature. Just being out there is food for his soul. Jesus himself spent much time in the wilderness - in the Zulu language EHLATHINI.

The American Indians were great conservationists and understood the value of the ecology. With the colonization of America North and South and the First World's quest for land and riches, the indigenous people were disrupted CHIEF SEATTLE was one who questioned this in a letter to the President of the United States. Africa too was colonized and tribal life was disrupted. Tribes were deprived of their grazing and hunting grounds,

First world principles and forms of government were imposed upon them. Though not all bad and progress is inevitable, this nevertheless caused upsets. Colonization has brought infrastructure, education and skills but some were not ready for it. Sometimes it would have been better to LEAVE THE PEOPLE alone. Interference in their lifestyles led to over population and poaching.

It was not only the first world that bulldozed their way from Europe through the other continents. The tribes of Africa and America also fought for territory just as crocodiles do in a river and rhinos do in the wild. AGISYMBAN TRILOGY is three stories about central Africa. First how the Bushmen, the original inhabitants of the south were persecuted by tribes from the North, then how the colonizers came and finally the end result - a war. ………………?
